University outsource management of messaging and web systems
Anglia Ruskin University has chosen bluesource, to remotely manage its messaging and web infrastructure used by its UK and internationally-based students. By outsourcing the management of these IT systems, Anglia Ruskin will be able to enhance the University’s 24 hour service continuity, reduce costs and liberate its in-house operational resources.
Gregor Waddell, Assistant Director Information Systems and Media Services, Anglia Ruskin University explains, “With our operations team’s limited staff numbers, it was proving increasingly difficult to support our IT infrastructure 24 hours a day. Out of hours IT support is critical as we also provide services to international students in different time zones. We have chosen bluesource to ensure that our systems operate at optimum levels, whilst reducing both the costs and challenges of managing our systems on an ongoing basis.”
The managed service will be delivered remotely from bluesource’s Service Management Centre in London and provide 24/7 management and analysis of the health of Anglia Ruskin’s Exchange and Linux server infrastructure and proactive resolution of incidents, to reduce systems’ risks. This will also enable the University’s operations team to focus on strategic IT projects, rather day to day maintenance.
By partnering with bluesource, the university will have a server infrastructure that is reliable, protected and fully managed, with its best-practice industry standards - at significantly less cost than in-house resources.
